The High Cost of Opposing Zionist Israel
Vocal Critics of War Crimes Find Themselves the Next Targets
My country, the United States of America, has committed horrendous atrocities on a massive scale throughout the world - resulting in countless deaths of innocent people. I condemn the politicians who voted for these actions and the ignorant citizens who supported those atrocities.
Many of my fellow citizens feel the same way. But that doesn't mean we hate all Americans or want to see all Americans subjected to genocide. Everyone knows that criticizing the U.S. war on Iraq, for example, does not equal hatred of all citizens of the USA.
But when it comes to our criticism of the war crimes of Israel, we critics are demonized. Zionist Jews and their non-Jewish Zionist supporters insist that our criticism of Israel means that we hate Jews - that we are Nazis, Hamas supporters, or rape apologists - that we are anti-Semites who just want all Jews to die in a new holocaust. There is no limit to the depraved accusations that Zionists will make against us.
The reason that Zionists use these labels and accusations is because the atrocious actions they wish they could defend are indefensible. Rather than try to defend Israel's barbaric, illegal military occupation or Israel's brutal mass murder of Palestinians, they try to "win" debates by dehumanizing the critics themselves with labels and false accusations of Jew hatred.
The goal is to attack the critic so viciously that the viewing public will be hesitant or afraid to take the side of the person accused of anti-Semitism out of fear of also being labeled and attacked. Many principled critics of Israeli war crimes have found themselves out of jobs due to nervous employers choosing to part company rather than risk being targeted and labeled as anti-Semites as well.
Keep this deflective tactic in mind when you watch defenders of Israel debate these issues on news shows or read Zionist defenses in social media debates. Guaranteed, they will turn to personally attacking their opponents because they cannot possibly win the argument in a civil, fact-based discussion.
Zionist positions are inherently weak - which is why they must deflect from the issue and make the debate about the alleged anti-Semitism of the person on the other side of the argument.
Our job as people of conscience is to forge ahead with our criticisms and not fear the labels and vicious slander that will come our way. Standing up for the innocent against a wicked regime like Israel does not come without a cost to ourselves. But for the sake of humanity, that cost is something we must all be willing to pay.
